OUTDOOR HOCKEY LEAGUE
West Carleton is host to one of Canada’s beloved Outdoor Hockey Leagues. Outdoor Hockey (ODR) is a CBBCA program in cooperation with the communities of Fitzroy Harbour, Dunrobin, and Carp. We welcome ALL surrounding communities to join us in the fun!

Season Details
Ages 5-15, girls and boys
Our season runs from January to March and includes:
1 weekly practice (decided by the Coach),
1 weekly game (Saturdays) and
New in 2025, we are introducing adding Sundays to hopefully allow more ice time in the colder month
And finally, a year-end tournament (held in the indoor arena in Carp and usually takes place on the first Saturday of March Break)
Games are played on Saturday between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 with the younger teams starting. Each centre takes turns hosting the games each Saturday.
New in 2025, REDUCED FEES This year we are reducing our fee by $10 to help encourage participation in our program

Fee: CBBCA Members pay $50 per child by way of a discount code. If you registered for a new CCBCA Membership in 2024, please log into the CBBCA Members Portal to get your discount code) Account Login. If you are an active member but have not yet re-registered to our new system, please send an email to kbehnan@cbbca.ca to confirm your membership and receive a discount code.
Equipment: Full hockey equipment is required including Goalie equipment. Every year, Carp hosts an Equipment Hockey Exchange to help you get your children suited up for the season. HCA Outdoor Rink Community Centre, 108 Juanita Drive - dates for this can be found on our Facebook page
CBay Jerseys will be provided which are to be returned at the end of the season

Rules: Nobody checks or slap-shots, No score-keeping, standings, or game records, No timekeeping — just a lot of cheering and encouragement from parents.
Coaching is very informal. This is not a “development” league. Our goal is to have children enjoy the game and go on to being regulars at the nightly shinny matches.
