If you are a West Carleton resident and were affected by the flood please join us on Saturday September 16th for an important work session.
This session is being organized by the WOCRC in collaboration with the CBBCA to gather feedback, based on your personal experiences, on the services delivered by various organizations; tell us what was done well, what could be done better, and what was missing. It is exceedingly important understand first hand how different organizations and the actions they took affected you and that they learn from this experience. This is especially true for the CBBCA, who stretched both its geographic and functional boundaries and must define what role if any it should have in disaster preparedness and response, the City of Ottawa, and the WOCRC. We want the management of future emergencies to be influenced by the personal experiences of people who had to live through it.
This session will be held in a work-group format; there are no public presentations, Q&As, or open mic opportunities. We are appreciative of both the WOCRC for coordinating and the United Way for facilitating.
Please Note; about 512 families were impacted by this spring’s flooding so space is limited for this event; if you were not directly affected by the flood we would ask that you not attend so we can maximize the value of the two hours we have to work with. The consolidated feedback will be available for comment at a later date.
